I don't have enough patience to play through the entire game but  the concept is really cool , I haven't really seen any game like this !

Hey this game rules!!

I decided to play around with the API and I noticed that the instructions in the eula don’t match the actual API address

While the fake EULA suggests you click w/ this request: http://localhost:1234?click

I found the actual API request was: http://localhost:1414/autoClicker?click=true

I was able to figure it out from the terminal window, so yay! But thought you might want to revise it for future API explorers

again, SUPER COOL GAME!

That makes me so happy ! I believe you’re the first player to try the API so I’m not surprised you found discrepancies! unfortunately, it’s gonna be hard for me to update it because making a new version of the game is very hard for me. But I’m so glad you found it interesting enough to dig the underlying concepts =)

Thanks you !

bro must have been very upset, he made a game like this in setup wizards🙏🏾🥀

Super fun! I love creative incremental games that do something silly with the genre and this is a fantastic take. The ending sequence had me in stitches

Thanks! I’m glad you liked it =)

Pretty fun clicker game. I enjoyed how fast the incremental rates become at the very end.

Thanks =) it was based on a kongregate article on math of incremental games

I have never seen a game about installing software!

this game sucks ass

I think there is something wrong with my game, theres no text on the button and no way to find out how many bits i have :(

Oh no! Someone else told me they had a problem but i did not assumed that. This might be related to the windows version… i assume you’re on win11?

Have you moved the window from one screen to another (if you have two screen on your computer). I know this used to cause bug in the past

(+2)

Is it possible you’ve closed the console window that open when starting the game ? I’ve asked around and so far I wasn’t able to have someone reproduce the bug.

(+2)

Im so sorry I have i misread the disclaimer and thought it said "and close the window that just popped up" im stupid, the game worked fine after that, it was very fun :)) (also i am on windows 11 and the game worked normally when i didnt close the window)

Phew! I know that this console is annoying, you’re neither the first nor the last to make that mistake. At least, now I know what cause this symptom, thank you for the report ️❤️

that was it. I thought the game, in all it's meta ways, was switching to using the console as the game, but i couldn't interact, and saw the other tab had a new button to click so i closed the console, wondering if it might close the whole thing, but it didn't, so i figured there was no issue. But yep, that was it. thanks.

I show my tech illiteracy once again. I was replying, and it wasn't letting me reply, so i kept trying, and reloaded the page and saw that i had sent the same message multiple times. nice. Your game's really fun and cute.

(+5)

it's a nice cookie clicker type game, honnestly tho I would have loved if the game kind of like broke itself, maybe some bars going out of the window or like maybe moving around like a dvd player

Anyways it was fun :D

The hat itself deserves a download...then the name just seals the deal.

bro why no one compiles from linux

I’ve though about doing a linux build since I switched myself, it should be feasible. It does require a bit of work though and I’ve not touched the sources in years. Maybe a bit later this year when I gather enough motivation.

Oh I can do it myself, I’m on arch. I can even create an AUR reponif you want. It’s just a remark, no offense, because no one thinks about Linux. This year, it got 5% market share on desktop.

If that’s something you want to do, have fun. I’m not well versed in C++ and Qt, I think it should mostly be a matter of CMake because the few dependencies should be available for linux.

It’s true that in the past, I would not do linux builds, partly because theses projects are for my personal enjoyments, partly because I dread having to fix some issues I don’t understand.

I would expect the linux share to grow a bit in the future thanks to Microsoft being especially bad and the proton emulation being especially effective. That’s what motivated me.

Baboo?

What engine (or coding language)  did you make it in?

(+1)

This was done in c++ using Qt for the interface. The code is available here : https://github.com/Redoxee/AutoClicker

damn object oriented
